Surface control with Eddy Current technique SKF

A major bearing producer for the aerospace industry asked Desimone how to automatically control the integrity of inner and outer bearing rings in order to ensure zero default production. The use of an IBG Eddy Current generator and an ABB robot allows to fully automate the NDT control process, for rings going from 8mm up to 600mm diameter.

 

The Eddy Current technique works as follows : a magnetic field is inducted in the part that has to be analysed. This field is altered as soon as it faces an alteration in the metallic part being analysed.
